Bartlett, IL—Photogenic Professional Lighting, from Promark, launched a full line of new lighting kits designed to meet the shooting needs of today’s photographer. The kits were also designed with the goal of simplifying choices for both dealers and consumers. Available this month, the new kits reinvent the company’s previous offerings.

“The popularity of DSLRs has brought lighting accessories back to the forefront again, and there is an emerging market for a new generation of photographers which is creating a big opportunity for camera dealers,” said Bob Higgins, sales and marketing manager of Promark International, manufacturer of Photogenic products. “These new kits will give them an incredible lineup from a product and an inventory standpoint.”

The Photogenic kits include the Solair, PowerLight and StudioMax III series—each strategically designed to meet current photographer’s lighting needs in any specific shooting situation, indoors or out. Included is a number of travel kits, all kits offer a Photogenic soft box.

“Two of the major additions to our new kit offerings are the inclusion of our soft boxes and our famously popular Eclipse umbrellas in each multi-light kit providing a significant value to the end user. As a powerful lighting modifier, a soft box allows large amounts of light to be cast but with very few resulting shadows. More photographers are utilizing the soft box as an alternative to diffuse lighting in specific lighting situations and these latest kits allow for the perfect blend of both,” added Higgins.

Solair Kits

Solair monolights employ “constant color” technology to prevent the flash color temperature from visibly shifting no matter what power setting. “These units are controlled for constant Kelvin color temperatures within 14° per stop over an amazing 8 f-stop range of power settings. There’s no warm cast at lower power levels. That’s very important when utilizing a multi-light setup,” said Higgins.

Each kit includes the following equipment.

PL2615K Solair Digital Travel Kit: two PL500DRC 500Ws Solair monolights; one Photogenic 24x32-inch soft box; one 45-inch Eclipse white panel umbrella.

PL2615KPW Solair Digital Travel Kit with PocketWizard: two PLR500DRC 500Ws Solair monolights; two built-in PocketWizard receivers; one Photogenic 24x32-inch soft box; a Photogenic 45-inch Eclipse white panel umbrella.
